Quinten Hayden Update

Quinten Hayden can still use our prayers. He has finally been transferred to Craig Hospital.

Quinten is vowing to walk again. The expenses have really been adding up since his car accident. Fruita Rim Rock Rodeo will be holding a fundraiser rodeo on May 11th. Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Receives Grant

Carbondale Wild West Rodeo received a Grant for $5,000 recently from the Garfield County Discretionary funds. These grants are distributed quarterly.

The Town of Carbondale is also helping with some of the costs for the planned improvements.

The county grant and funds from the Town of Carbondale will be used for three much needed projects -- 1) Getting 110V power to the pavilion and concession area. 2) A new roping chute. 3) A storage shed for rodeo gear, shirts, vests, decorations, flags etc...

Tomie Zordel -- Rodeo Funny Man & Friend to Many Passes

Our condolences go out to the Zordel family at the passing of Tomie Zordel on February 11th. Tomie's family moved to Aspen from Kansas when he was little. He was a ranch hand and took care of many ranches around the Roaring Fork Valley. Tomie also worked for Aspen Skiing Company for many decades. Tomie was a long time fixture of the local rodeo scene. His antics as rodeo clown and his roping skills and horsemanship will long be remembered. Tommy also was one of the famed horse-mounted Pitkin County Sheriff's Posse members. RIP Tommy.
