Be the first to sit under the covered roof and enjoy the picnic pavilion and the improved sound system. Our announcer and timers will no longer sway with the wind or suffer in the rain. We have a new announcers stand too!
The Glenwood Springs Post Independent featured an article on May 30, about the first rodeo of the season. We are glad the community is excited as we are about the start of rodeo season and the new additions to the Gus Darien Arena. It is our lucky 13th year and we are so happy and proud to be a part of the community with such superb sponsors, fans, contestants, and volunteers. It wouldn't be possible without you. You all rock!! Josh Rogan will kick off the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo with his music that he describes as "rock and roll soul". Josh has been a most welcome fixture of the last few rodeo seasons. His music engages fans and ramps up the enthusiasm of the crowds. Josh will also be appearing on July 6, our rodeo celebration of July 4, Independence Day. "With his latest (album), At the End of the Day, he has tapped back into his acoustic blues roots and plays heart-felt, wrenching soulful original tunes.
Branden Edwards of Grand Junction is the new rodeo announcer for the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo for the 2017 season. Branden calls Grand Junction home. He is a graduate of Fruita Monument High School and of Mesa State College. Branden attended the Chad Nicholson's Rodeo Announcer's Training Seminar and has been heavily involved in rodeos in and around Grand Junction, Fruita and the state of Colorado. Welcome Branden!
