Trent Goscha Sportsmanship Award Established

The Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association Board has established the Trent Goscha Sportsmanship Award which will be presented annually at the Finals Rodeo beginning in 2017 in memory of Trent. Trent was a bright light in the community helping with the local gymkhanas, participating in the Roaring Fork Ranch Roping and always a presence at the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo encouraging others to do their best. Trent, you will be missed.

Grandstands Cover and New Announcers Stand Coming Soon

Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association Board is pleased to announce that work has finally begun on the Grandstand Roof and the Announcer's Booth. There have been some very generous donations that are helping to make it possible to get a new rodeo announcer's booth. We would like to thank the donors listed below the Town of Carbondale, Jeff Jackel, and Garfield County for all they have done to make this possible. Royalty Tryouts Cancelled

The Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association is discontinuing the rodeo royalty program. All tryouts that may have been scheduled are cancelled!
In it's place we will be offering scholarships to our contestants and volunteers who are enrolling or enrolled in college or a trade school. There will be an application process and we will keep you posted on how to apply for the scholarships as we work out the details. Stay tuned...more information to follow.

We thought we would share with Carbondale Wild West Rodeo (CWWR) fans the nice photo thank you we recently received from Mt. Sopris 4-H Club. Mt. Sopris 4-H was one of our vendors for concessions this 2016 rodeo season. CWWR supports several organizations and groups through donations and/or opportunities to sell goods at the rodeo. Greg Casteel -- Guinness World Record Holder Bull Rider to Defend Title at CWWR Aug. 11

Our friend, Eric Montemayor at Community Banks of Colorado just sent this message -- "I just wanted to give you a "Heads Up" on this week's rodeo. My Friend, Coach and Guinness World Record holder Bull Rider, Greg Casteel, will be riding this Thursday to defend his title as Oldest Active Bull Rider. I'm hoping to draw a crowd to witness this event. See you there!
