It is the desire of the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association to make available two awards to Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association contestants or volunteers who are actively enrolled in college or a trade school. Scholarship applications are due Monday, August 20th to be announced at the Finals Rodeo, August 23rd.

Value: $1,000.00 for the academic year of 2018-2019

Eligibility: – A contestant or volunteer who has participated or volunteered in a minimum of nine rodeos during the 2018 Carbondale Wild West Rodeo season.
– A contestant or volunteer who has been accepted into an accredited education program or enrolled in an accredited trade school program.

Award Selection Process: The selection Committee will consider the applicant’s:
– Resume
– Letters of Recommendation
– Applicant’s Personal Statement
– Interview (if determined necessary by the Committee)

Letters of Recommendation: Two (2) letters of recommendation (not from a family
member.)

Personal: A typed statement, personal letter or essay that discusses your plans and goals. Please comment on an important experience of personal significance or specific person who has inspired or encouraged you. Briefly include any special circumstances or family situations that you feel will aid in the selection process. Emphasize the ways in which this award will help you in reaching your goals.
