Cody Griebel Guest Photography

A big thank you to Cody Griebel for sharing her photographs with us.Cody grew up in a rodeo family and is helping her daughter Bailey with a new barrel horse prospect. Bailey won the Junior Barrels season buckle two years ago. Cody explains her love for ranching and photography – “As a Documentary photographer, I give the viewer a glimpse into a lifestyle that is steeped in tradition and a passing way of life. A life of simplicity, a world filled with integrity, compassion, and beautiful moments, that I have the privilege of living. I capture the heart of the cowboy, a heart that time has not changed. I transport the audience to a place where a celebration of this organic culture with their connection to the horse, earth, and tradition is better understood. I feel a desire to show the world these images in an effort to preserve this fading way of life. The culture that helps feed the world.”

Cody lives with husband Travis and her family on a local ranch, where she can be found with her camera slung across her shoulder, horseback and looking for that shot that portrays the ranching culture. Cody is currently working on a project photographing and documenting ranch women. Cody was recently selected as one of the one hundred photography students for the Eddie Adams workshop to be held in New York state in October. Students will be taught by photography professionals. The workshop website states, “The Eddie Adams Workshop is an intense four-day gathering of the top photography professionals, along with 100 carefully selected students. The photography workshop is tuition-free, and the students are chosen based on the merit of their portfolios.” Cody is a recent graduate of Colorado Mountain College. See http://www.eddieadamsworkshop.com/ to learn more about the workshop Cody will be attending.
