CWWR Photographer Paula Mayer — Sopris Sun Article on Pickup Men

Paula Mayer takes a closer look at the life saving job the rodeo pickup men perform around the rough stock events at a rodeo. It takes a special dedication to go into the fray of animal and rough stock contestant, while horseback and putting aside the thought that they as pickup men or their horses could end up a casualty to the frenzied action. The pickup men push these thoughts aside and go into the wreck to keep rider and horse or bull, and themselves and their mounts safe to ride another day.
