Carbondale Wild West Rodeo New Scholarship Program
Scholarship forms (see text and pdf below) are due August 15th in order to be announced at August 17th finals rodeo.
Two $1,000 scholarships will be available. We apologize for the short notice, but this is a new program for us and it took some time to decide the parameters of the scholarship program. We have tried to keep the application simple but with enough information to choose the most worthy applicants.

Deadline: Completed application must be received no later than August 15, 2017. Notification: Recipients will be notified at the Finals Rodeo, August 17, 2017.

Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association
Scholarship Award
It is the desire of the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association to make available two awards to Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association contestants or volunteers who are actively enrolled in college or a trade school.
Value: $1,000.00 for the academic year of 2017-2018
Eligibility: – A contestant or volunteer who has participated or volunteered in a minimum of nine rodeos during the 2017 Carbondale Wild West Rodeo season.
– A contestant or volunteer who has been accepted into an accredited
education program or enrolled in an accredited trade school program.
Award Selection Process: The selection Committee will consider the applicant’s:
– Resume
– Letters of Recommendation
– Applicant’s Personal Statement
– Interview (if determined necessary by the Committee)
Letters of Recommendation: Two (2) letters of recommendation (not from a family member).
Personal: A typed statement, personal letter or essay that discusses your plans and goals. Please comment on an important experience of personal significance or specific person who has inspired or encouraged you. Briefly include any special circumstances or family situations that you feel will aid in the selection process. Emphasize the ways in which this award will help you in reaching your goals.
