Grandstands Cover and New Announcers Stand Coming Soon

Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association Board is pleased to announce that work has finally begun on the Grandstand Roof and the Announcer’s Booth. There have been some very generous donations that are helping to make it possible to get a new rodeo announcer’s booth. We would like to thank the donors listed below the Town of Carbondale, Jeff Jackel, and Garfield County for all they have done to make this possible. Also, below is more information of the timeline for the project.

Rodeo Announcer’s Booth Update:

The existing 45-year old announcers booth was removed the first week of November and is being repurposed at the Hendrick Community Garden as their new Garden Tool Shed

Stamped Architectural plans for the new announcers booth have been provided pro-bono no charge by Tim Hagman

Engineering review of the new announcers booth is being provided pro-bono by John Partch of SGM

Soils testing in preparation of the concrete foundation pour has been provided pro-bono no charge by Lou Eller & Dan Hardin from H-P Kumar

Labor for forming & setting the concrete foundation is being provided pro-bono no charge by MGM Concrete.

Concrete for the foundation is being provided pro-bono no charge by Travis Steward of Casey Concrete

Construction labor to build the new announcers booth is being provided pro-bono no charge by Don VanDevander of Aaron Jacob Construction

The Town will be seeking donations of materials at-cost for the lumber and electrical work needed for the project

Announcer’s Booth should be completed by Thanksgiving

Rodeo Bleacher Grandstand Roof Update:

Talley Ho Construction submitted the first week of November, stamped engineered drawings to Garfield County & has pulled a building permit for construction to begin

Prefabricated Steel columns & metal roofing will be arriving on site November 1st

Concrete foundation footers (5 total) for the steel columns to support the roof will be dug & poured in the next 2-weeks

Setting the steel columns & erecting the metal roof cover will follow
Project should be completed by Thanksgiving

The Carbondale Rodeo Committee is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization committed to keeping the Roaring Fork Valley’s western heritage alive by offering a fun family-oriented event for residents and visitors alike. The Carbondale Wild West Rodeo is held every Thursday from June until late August, rain or shine.

2024 Rodeo Season

The 2024 rodeo season will begin on Thursday, June 6th, and continue through Thursday, August 22nd. Come down to the rodeo every Thursday evening for 12 weeks. 

  • Gates open at 5 pm 
  • Slack is at 5:45 pm
  • Grand Entry is at 7:30

Reserve Arena Fence Parking

We are excited to continue the premium arena fence online parking reservation system for the 2024 season!

Arena fence parking tickets go on sale every Wednesday starting at noon through the rodeo season and typically sell out within minutes.

Remember, leaving your vehicles at the arena or on Willow Lane early is no longer allowed.
