Our Rodeo Photographers

We have decided to offer the secondary photography position to a few different photographers to learn more about shooting rodeo and in particular the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo. It is fast paced action starting during daylight hours and going until dark under lights in all kinds of weather. It’s a challenge and really helps to hone one’s skills. Paula Mayer will be leading the charge and assisting the others with the experiences she has gained. We have a few folks signed up and ready to go. If you are interested you can still contact Ginny Harrington at the phone or email below. We may fill up for this year but can put your name down as a possibility next year.

This position provides real world experience shooting a western sports/ action event. It is a goal of CWWR to work with up and coming photographers who are getting their career started or attending school with the goal of being a professional photographer. We would also consider an established photographer who just wants to have some fun and get some great shots at the rodeo. As a non-profit we strive to provide scholarships and funding to charitable causes, and we couldn’t do this without our volunteers. The photographer position has a small stipend for compensation, as well as pizza and beverage at each rodeo.

Photos will be used on Facebook, CWWR website, and CWWR Flickr.

Photographer keeps copyright and licensing. You are encouraged to offer your photos for sale and your contact info will be available on our website. If you or someone you know of might be interested in being the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo photographer for the 2022 season and potentially a year or two beyond that, please contact Paula Mayer, CWWRA Photographer at [email protected].

Minimum requirements: proficiency in Adobe LR or Photoshop, comfortable around livestock, willing to work in all weather conditions.
