The contestants of the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo are the true heartbeat of every Thursday night. These skilled athletes bring grit, determination, and unmatched talent to the arena, delivering an unforgettable show week after week. Their courage and passion are what make the rodeo possible — we wouldn’t be here without our incredible cowboys and cowgirls. 

Contestant Entry & Checkin INfo

Call-Ins:
Call-in entries are open every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The entry phone number is 970-923-9270 (the same as the Snowmass Rodeo).

Waiver Form:
All contestants must complete a waiver form before their first competition. To help reduce lines at the first rodeo, please download the waiver, fill it out, and bring it with you.

On-Site Sign-Ups:
A sign-in sheet for the following week’s rodeo will be available on rodeo night at the rodeo grounds. Contestants may register on-site for all events except mutton busting.

Ropers:
Please confirm who you are roping with before calling or signing up for the next week’s rodeo.

Payment & Check-In Times:
Team ropers, dally ribbon ropers, and barrel racers must check in and pay by 5:30 PM. Bull riders must check in and pay by 7:00 PM. All other contestants, including mutton busters, must check in by 7:15 PM sharp.

Check-In Location:
Please check in with Katie Ford, the Carbondale Rodeo Secretary, at the Secretary Shed.

Entry Fees

(CWWRA reserves the right to raise entry fees as deemed necessary.) Any updates in fees will be posted as soon as available.

  • Bull Riding$50
  • Junior Bull Riding $30
  • Team Roping- $30 per person ($60 per team)
  • Ranch Bronc Riding – $50
  • Ladies Breakaway Roping – $40
  • Junior Breakaway Roping – $20
  • Dally Ribbon Roping – $25 per person ($50 per team)
  • Open Barrel Racing – $40
  • Junior Barrel Racing – $20 (Note: For contestants age 13 and under as of the first seasonal rodeo.)
  • Steer Riding $25
  • Cowhide Race – $20 per team 
 
Entry fees can be paid by cash or check.
Welcome to the Rodeo

The Carbondale Rodeo Committee is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization committed to keeping the Roaring Fork Valley’s western heritage alive by offering a fun family-oriented event for residents and visitors alike. The Carbondale Wild West Rodeo is held every Thursday from June until late August, rain or shine.

The Rodeo Season

The rodeo season will begin the first Thursday in June, and continue through the third Thursday in August. Come down to the rodeo every Thursday evening for 12 weeks.

Reserve Arena Fence Parking

We are excited to continue the premium arena fence online parking reservation system for the 2024 season!

Arena fence parking tickets go on sale every Wednesday starting at noon through the rodeo season and typically sell out within minutes.

Remember, leaving your vehicles at the arena or on Willow Lane early is no longer allowed.
