2017 Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Special Awards

August 17, 2017 Carbondale Wild West Rodeo — Photos and story by Julie Albrecht — You can see Julie’s photographs at and at the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo facebook page
The non-profit Carbondale Wild West Rodeo was proud to present $5,000 to the Calaway Young Cancer Center and Valley View Hospital from the Tough Enough to Wear Pink rodeo, awarded a $1,000 scholarship each to Shannon Weeks and Nate Hoey, and with donations from friends, family and volunteers, the Trent Goscha Sportsmanship award to Lydia Hanrahan, the Spirit of Court Will Buckle Award to Walker Lassiter, the Court Will Saddle for High Money Winner to Nate Hoey, and a brand spankin’ new cowboy hat and lariat to long-time arena volunteer Tanner Hawkins. All this giving away extended the final rodeo of the season by a few minutes, but we think it was worth it! Thanks for a great season!!
