The Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Association will be presenting an All Around Award to the cowboy or cowgirl with the highest accumulated earnings in 2 or more events. The All Around Winner must compete in one event 9 times or more and in a second event at least 4 times during the season and win money in each event and be the top money winner of all events at the end. If the event is a buckle event it counts as an individual event for the award. For example: Heading and heeling count as separate events as well as roping in the #8 and the #11. The recipient will receive a saddle and a buckle.
This award will be presented at the Finals Rodeo on August 18th. Pictured above is the CWWR 2019 All Around Saddle Winner Matt Nieslanik. Matt is longtime pickup man for the rodeo as well as participating in several roping events and the Cowhide Race from time to time. Matt is a great supporter and encourager of young folks just starting into rodeo. We also would like to recognize Quinten Hayden, who was the 2018 All Around Winner. Quinten suffered a terrible car crash in February 2019. Quinten has been unable to walk since that time but that hasn’t stopped him and his family from attending several of the 2019 rodeos and we were sure glad to see him. Quinten is quick to cheer on and encourage all other rodeo participants. Quinten’s spunk and determination to fight on to full recovery is strong and we commend him for that. We wish Quinten a speedy and amazing recovery. We are pulling for you Quinten. We are proud that along with being All Around Saddle Winners, these fellows are such great supporters of other rodeo participants and willing to help and encourage other competitors. They really are all around good guys!
